Male Loneliness Now, this isn't a very sexy topic but it is essential that we talk about it. It's a SERIOUS issue which I feel we're not addressing currently. In my line of work, I meet more and more guys who are lonely. Almost exclusively, none of them like to admit it, but it is becoming more and more common, the deeper I dive into this work. The question is, what can we do about it? Well, that's exactly what I attempt to tackle in this podcast. Like I mentioned earlier, it ain't sexy, but I do believe that it is vital that we talk about this, if only to bring awareness to the topic and help some guys realise that they might fall into this category... and that there is a solution. If you have begun to think that you might actually be a little lonely recently, or someone that you know is showing all the signs of isolation, this episode is for you. I talk about a number of ways to address this issue, and I truly hope you find it if not inspiring, educational at the very least. Matt…

Ross has SOME story; he is the epitome of turning your life around . Find out how Ross went from being a child from a broken home, abandoned by his Father, embroiled in the world of drugs and facing two years in jail, to the motivational human being he is today. Growing up in Scotland, Ross suffered from OCD, anxiety & panic attacks. This led him to self-medicate using recreational drugs which in turn led him to becoming a drug dealer. Yet Ross still managed to come through all of this a free man because of the people he met and the determination to better himself. Ross now shares that knowledge with individuals and companies all over the UK. He's a motivational speaker and an expert in Wellbeing Sciences & Human Optimisation too. Basically, Ross is a fascinating character who I felt compelled to get on the podcast to help lift you up and prove that no matter how bad and tough life is, you can overcome it. This was quite a different podcast for me to record this week, as " Hopps " is one of my oldest and dearest friends, and as it turns out, he's been struggling. To make it worse, it's been happening under my own nose. Paul is very open and honest in this episode, even more than I expected him to be. I take that as a huge compliment, as it shows his trust in me as his friend, but also as a professional publishing this podcast ( having his approval means an awful lot to me ). I trust that you the listener will show him the same respect. This man is pretty much responsible for me falling in love with radio, something I did back in the early 90's. Thirty years later, and I'm still broadcasting. He takes the compliment in his inimitable style. *Trigger warning - we do talk about depression in this episode. If you don't want to listen, please refrain from downloading this podcast. However, we also have some fun too, after all, it's our job to entertain. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Paul Hopper, in all his raw glory! Part Two coming soon...…
Robert Riopel , who is based in Alberta Canada, has travelled the world and trained over 500,000 people. He's also a published author, having written the book, " Success Left A Clue ". During his extensive travels teaching around the world, Robert noticed that success has left clues everywhere... so he wrote a book about it. In this episode, Robert describes ' The 4 Currencies of Life '... which is covered off in his new book, " Authority Key ". I personally found this really fascinating and I hope you to do. Robert used to be a Dominoes Franchisee too, so anyone who makes pizza for a living, is OK by me! I really hope you enjoy this episode. Robert's energy is palpable and he clearly knows exactly what he's talking about. You can download Robert's first book in digital format, FOR FREE from his website - robertriopel.com .…
So, for one reason or another (holidays, being poorly, etc.) there hasn't been a Who Needs Instructions episode for a while. Have no fear, I'm back now with an update of what's going on behind the scenes (BTS) and all the cool stuff that I've got coming up in the very near future. In this episode, I cover topics like being ' ROCK BOTTOM ', your ' SECRET SAUCE ' and Finding time to play. There's also a (vague) update about what's coming next, which includes a HUGE name-drop about a former President. We talk WhatsApp Groups , LinkedIn Live Shows and Projects, BIG PROJECTS , coming up! So, plug in the ear pods, relax, sit back and take it all in. Plus, please can I ask that you leave us a review? Wherever you're listening, leave us a rating and please also subscribe to the podcast, it REALLY helps, more than you know. Take care and chat soon chaps, Matt .…
On this week's podcast, I'm joined by Renée Jones, all the way from Texas in the USA! 🇺🇸 Renée has spent 40 years on yo-yo diets, so she's been there, seen it and DONE IT. But, in 2012, she finally came to terms with her diet by tackling her Emotional Eating , and has managed to maintain a healthy weight ever since. She says, "when you aren’t eating to soothe yourself, you save a whole bunch of calories." Listen in as Renée takes us through the process she does with all of her clients, to find out what diet works for THEM, and not what latest fad diet you have been told you should be trying. I had an 'ah-ha' moment during the recording of this podcast and I'm excited for you to hear that too. Whatever you do whilst you're listening to this podcast (driving, walking, running, etc...) I'm sure you'll learn a lot from Renée and her years of experience and wisdom. Renée website - Pack Your Own Bag Watch Renée's TEDx Talk here - TEDx Talk…
Vikki is a superstar. She has a Doctorate in Clinical and Community Psychology which she uses to make people happier, which is awesome. A self-confessed brain geek, Vikki makes understanding the stuff that goes on inside our heads, easier. In this episode, Vikki gives us a whole bunch of tips about how to make ourselves happier. She also tells us about the time she lived with Richard Branson on Necker Island and how that was the best yet one of the hardest times in her life. She tells us a joke about psychologists (instead of a Dad Joke; don't worry, it's a corker!) and we also hear about her new book, " Free Happiness: The art and science of positivity "... available from Amazon - Buy it here . Vikki's website - https://www.drvikkibarnes.com/ If you've enjoyed this episode, please leave us a rating on whichever podcasting tool you've used to listen to this on, THANK YOU 🙏🏼 *NOTE - We recorded this episode in a room that was a bit echoey, I hope it doesn't spoil your listening pleasure... After completing a degree in Psychology, Natasha went on to become an employment solicitor and found that she was using her degree more and more when dealing with men, in senior positions, who are going through a redundancy, for example. They would open up to her like never before, and to cut a long story short, this led her to write and publish a book last year, called MANDEMIC! Natasha is unique in so many ways, but the common ground that she shares with me ( your host ) is uncanny. We appear to have a very similar mission in life; to help men talk, open up more and to communicate better. Tasha's book contains numerous habits, which are all aimed at helping men deal with the world that we live in - you can pick up a copy from Amazon, here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mandemic-Tale-Didnt-Like-Told/dp/1913206564 Tune in to this podcast to hear Natasha's take on why men seem to struggle so much in today's world. She's seen it first hand, she's dealt with these guys in her job and now she really wants to help them too. Connect with Natasha on LinkedIn here - https://www.linkedin.com/in/natashajones/…
Fran is the first lady to appear on the Podcast... and what a guest she is! All the way from Brisbane in Australia 🇦🇺, Fran joined us to talk about having the confidence to talk to your mates and how to start that conversation. With a background in performing, Frances experienced a loss of self-confidence after a relationship breakdown, but soon developed her own set of programmes to help her build that confidence back again. A self-confessed 'Boomer', Frances has written a book entitled "Your Kitchen Olympics... and other remarkable athletic feats". It's a hilarious read and you can pick it up from Amazon here . Find Fran's website here - https://www.francescahill.com.au/ Go and find out more about this amazing woman and her WHY in life!…
Ashley is a trained chef, but made the decision quite early on in his career to quit that and go in to sales, so he could start a family. He spent a long time in the corporate world but has recently made the decision to go it alone and follow his passion. With over 30 years working in the sales arena, he has spent the last 14 years working with accountants. Because of his experience of working with people and being on the buying journey with key decision-makers, he's now able to help people to become more comfortable when selling. Ashley is also an accomplished musician. It has lead him down some mad roads and completely changed his life. Wanna find out how? Cool, listen to this podcast. He's always warn his heart on his sleeve and it's definitely not done him any harm. I also recorded this podcast as a video too, so pop over to the Facebook page if you'd like to watch this too... Ash has a lovely shed which is worth seeing. Enjoy the podcast... Full Cup Coaching - https://www.fullcupcoaching.co.uk/…
Andy Taylor started out his football career at Manchester United, which is exactly where he saw himself from a very young age. However, a serious injury prevented him from making it to the first team and playing for the beloved Red Devils. This might have been a huge setback for some, but not Andy. He took it in his stride and decided to learn more about injuries by taking a degree at Salford University. Andy played part-time football whilst at Uni and got himself back in to shape. He then returned home to Devon where he played for Exeter City for five more seasons before retiring and moving on to set up Taylor Made Performance with his wife, Claire - https://www.taylormaderehab.com/#/ You can tell by the way Andy speaks, he's always been a very level-headed individual and that has been prevalent throughout his career. His routine is fascinating ( listen in to find out how he starts his day ) and the fact that he is always learning, inspirational. I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I did recording it. Andy clearly knows what he's talking about and has shown how to overcome a huge setback in his career, and prove there's more to life than we may have originally thought.…
