Watch the Show on YouTube – RSVP for the LIVE Event Listen to the Podcast: Rob Cesternino and Stephen Fishbach get together for a special LIVE edition of the Survivor Know-It-Alls with the winner of Survivor Cagayan , Tony Vlachos. Tony begins by discussing his edit and how people view his controversial moves as wrong. He says that the episodes did not show enough of his strategy talk in confessionals and as a result, it threw fans off. Tony says that the biggest thing people—including Rob and Stephen—have wrong about him is that his moves were impulsive and wrong at the time. Stephen, Rob, and Tony then discuss another controversial move of Tony’s: lying about being a police officer. Stephen asks Tony if lying to people about being a cop was the wrong move. Tony says that he lied about being a cop because people were more likely to dislike a cop than a construction worker. He says telling Sarah he was not a cop was a necessary lie because he had told Cliff and Woo already that he was a construction worker. Tony says police officers are stereotyped as sharp, quick, and athletic, so it felt more comfortable to him to lie about his profession. Rob and Stephen ask Tony if the spy shack he made to spy on people, which was portrayed as more comedic on the show, actually worked. Tony says that production sacrificed footage of his spying; he says he would spend upwards of 2 hours a day hiding in the spy shack and listening to conversations. The conversations he would hear helped him decide that Cliff had to go, as Cliff was the one gunning against Tony and Trish. He says that the spy shack was important in helping him decide that Cliff had replaced him with Lindsey in the alliance of Woo, Cliff, and Tony. This helped Tony decide to get Cliff and Lindsey out. Rob asked how Tony became so close with others when they merged. Tony says that he would come clean to people about things he had said in the past, so it helped him become closer with the people his enemies were pitting him against. Tony says that coming clean before Tribal Councils helped him as he was never outed for saying information that would get people to turn on him. For example, he came clean to Woo about calling him “Weasel Woo,” expecting that it would come out during Tribal Council anyway. It would end with Woo replying at Tribal Council that he had already heard about that and as a result it would not damage Tony’s game. He believes coming clean to Sarah about being a cop also helped him as it created Cops R Us and got Sarah to trust Tony. Rob asks Tony if he thinks he might have done twice the amount of work he needed to win during his time on Survivor . In hindsight, Tony agrees, but believes that it felt necessary to him at the time to work as hard as he did and to think five or six moves ahead. Stephen asks Tony who were the true strategic players of the season. Tony names LJ, Spencer, Alexis, and Tasha as strategic players. Tony disagrees that Kass was making strategic moves. Pre-merge, Tony’s relationship with Sarah was hurt by him cheering “Top 5!” after a competition. Tony says that the cheering was a purely emotional outburst that he had not planned, and that it hurt his group before Kass came over to the new Solana Tribe’s side. Stephen asks Tony if the way he got LJ out was a smart move. Tony says that by acting paranoid to LJ about Woo, he got LJ to lay his cards down, and made Tony look like less of a target. It made LJ oblivious to the fact that all along Tony was setting his sights on getting LJ out. Furthermore, Tony says this was part of his jury management plan to make LJ like him. Tony says that by discussing his loyalty and saying that he put his game in jeopardy to save a member of his alliance (by using his idol on LJ) he could vote with the other side and still be able to return to his original group once he got members of his alliance out. Tony says that the reason he could flip on people and come back to his alliance was that he knew whom he was playing with. He knew what he could and could not get away with. On the Tyler Perry Idol, Tony says that the idol was not as powerful as it has been made out to be. Stephen and Rob agree that Tony’s ability to read people and his discipline during the game got him very far. On the controversial move of voting Trish out, Tony says that he could have voted out Woo or Kass but he needed Woo to help win against Spencer in the next Immunity Challenge and he needed Kass to stay because no one would vote for Kass in the end. Tony says Tasha didn’t vote for him because he didn’t manage Tasha’s jury vote as well as LJ’s or Trish’s. He told Tasha that the girls left would not be able to survive without him and that Tasha took it the wrong way, leading Tasha to vote for Woo. However, Tony says that he does not mind Tasha’s vote and blames himself for the 8-1 result. A viewer asked why Woo was nicknamed “Weasel Woo”: Tony says he called Woo a weasel because Woo would tell Tony he was with him, but he would completely stop talking when Tony walked by. Another viewer asked whom Tony most enjoyed playing with or against and whom he would like to play again with: Tony says he had a lot of genuine chemistry with Trish and later on with Spencer. Tony says he doesn’t specifically want to play with anyone (including Trish or Spencer) again since he still has to beat them. Another viewer brought up that Russell Hantz said on Twitter that Tony would be the first boot if he ever played “with the big boys”: Tony says he doesn’t mind playing with anyone and that he would enjoy playing with veterans. Tony says that the difference between him and Russell is the social part of the game. Another viewer asked about Tony’s casting process: Tony says he’s been watching since 2000 and has always wanted to play but never applied because he did not think he had a chance. Tony says he made a three-minute video and in three weeks he got a call from producers. Tony says that he deferred being on the show because of his wedding date and because of his daughter’s birth. Tony was called back months later for season 28. Overall, Rob and Stephen agree that watching Tony play the game was entertaining both because of Tony’s game moves and because he was Team TV. Who Wore it Better: Chaos Kass or Rob? Listen to the Podcast: Kass McQuillen has driven down south to be Rob’s special in-studio guest and discuss her 38 days on “Survivor: Cagayan.” Kass starts out by assessing Rob’s “man cave” in comparison to her husband’s barn. She also shares that she does not like the attention that comes from being on the show, but it’s harder to avoid in her small town. Rob breaks down Survivor Cagayan from the Perspective of Kass McQuillen Kass breaks down the struggles of the Brains tribe in the early days, and her thoughts on David, who Rob thought would have made great TV had he lasted longer in the game. Kass found the conflict among the alpha males on Luzon amusing. She gives more detail on the rice dumping situation with J’Tia and Garrett’s idol clue. She also says that telling J’Tia she was going to vote for her was a mistake, but one that didn’t hurt her in the long run and in fact helped her. Kass details why she elected to work with Tasha and J’Tia over Spencer and Garrett. Rob and Kass then compare and contrast elements of her game to two-time winner Sandra’s gameplay. Kass explains that keeping Spencer over J’Tia was a last-minute decision, and Jeff Probst influenced it more than Spencer. Next Rob and Kass go into the tribe swap and how the three Brains came back to working together and the decision to vote out Alexis. Rob asks Kass if she feels “intentional Matsinging” would ever be a good idea, as the Brawns had never been to tribal council by that point. Then they go into Kass’s decision to flip at the merge and her personality clash with Sarah. Kass points out that Spencer was more close with Sarah and Jeremiah, and so she felt the only person she betrayed with that flip was Tasha. Kass talks about her conversations with Tony and Trish during the merge and letting them feel comfortable approaching her. She mentions she wanted to rope in Jefra but Spencer didn’t think it was a good idea. Kass describes how Sarah would discuss getting back with Tony and Trish and just promising the Brains top seven, rather than final four. She felt flipping was in her best interest. She says she didn’t flip out of spite, but it did feel good and it was hilarious that two idols were flushed as well. Rob asks her why she didn’t wait with the move until later in the game. Kass says she was willing to work with Spencer and Jeremiah after the flip, but not Tasha and Morgan because they wouldn’t talk to her or were rude. She thinks everyone was so mad because they all expected her to be their goat. Kass felt Spencer had a lot of opportunities to switch it up, such as at the Jefra vote, but he never told anyone about his idol. Kass didn’t feel the need to convince him to do so because she liked the story of going up against two Brawns in the end. Kass talks about why she suspected Spencer had the idol. Then Rob asks Kass about being blindsided about the LJ vote. Kass didn’t have a chance to see LJ play so she didn’t feel she could assess whether he was a good player. She talks about how he went to a bunch of different people with final 3 deals as well, likely because he noticed Tony, Trish and Woo were unbreakable. Next they talk about the Jefra vote. Kass was less thrilled about this blindside. She thought it was stupid to not get Spencer out. She thinks Tony was too nervous that Jefra considered flipping on him, but that the fear was irrational about a women’s alliance. Logically, Spencer was a big challenge threat but Jefra was not. She says Tony didn’t realize that Jefra would never pull the trigger on a big flip. Kass talks about how Tony would make fun of Spencer’s strategy and be condescending toward the women. Kass goes into why Tasha didn’t vote for Tony in the end. Kass found his misogynistic comments funny but Tasha didn’t appreciate it. Kass says that Tasha said that God had already chosen the winner and she used that as a way to get the women to work with her. Next Kass takes Rob through the discussions and plans on the reward with Spencer and Woo. Kass says it was Woo who didn’t want to go through with it, but she had wanted to flush Tony’s idol during that vote even if they ultimately sent Tasha home. Then they talk about the famous line “Do you need me to talk ‘llama’ to you?” Kass found it hilarious and wasn’t sure why he picked “llama.” She did mention that she was an animal handler (instead of revealing she was a lawyer) because her family had an exotic animal farm. Kass said she never trusted Tony out there, but Trish and Woo always did. Kass goes into her decision to tell Woo about Tony’s final 3 deal with her. She thinks Woo was worried about losing to her and also that everyone was being encouraged to take Tony to the end. Kass was disappointed but not shocked that Woo didn’t take her to the end. Rob breaks down the potential votes that Kass would have had over Woo. Kass says he was known as “Weasel Woo.” Kass also goes into her animosity with Trish. She says that she had a brotherly type relationship with Tony and that Jeff was surprised that Kass received cheers at the finale. Rob shares a theory that Kass’s educational background might have influenced some people’s negative opinions of her. Kass says she gets a lot of positive feedback from women and fans, and thinks the blogging, obsessive subset of fans is in the minority and she was surprised to discover this world existed as she was someone who only watched the show on TV. Kass says she has no hard feelings toward anyone after the game, but that Trish and Tasha still have problems with her. She also talks about Denise Stapley’s criticism of her. She doesn’t think former players should be so quick to critique current players and should look at the bigger picture. Rob asks Chaos Kass about her Twitter feud with Russell Hantz. Rob also teases the “The Vlachos” trailer. Kass feels doing a “wife swap” with Tony’s family would be fun to see. Then Kass takes questions from the Rob Has a Podcast audience and covers a variety of topics including: Woo’s decision to take Tony, considering voting for Woo, her hypothetical jury speech, her relationship with Spencer, why she cried on the island, who she was closest with on the island and currently, pre-season predictions, social media behavior, applying for the show, what she would do if she played again, her individual immunity win, her mistakes in the game, her sociability, a DMK with Trish, Sarah and Morgan, advice for happiness, and potential storylines for “The Vlachos”. Survivor 2014: A Cagayan Closeout Special Listen to the Podcast: Coming to you live from the conclusion of the Cagayan season, it is Rob Cesternino joined with Josh Wigler. Weeks after the end of the season, Rob still feels good about not only the winner and season itself but also the coverage the podcast had for the season. Josh enjoyed the return to form Survivor has been able to do this season, as his memories of One World have been pushed aside for this season. Rob Cesternino and Josh Wigler review Survivor Cagayan and answer your questions on a special edition of Rob Has a Podcast. The shift from where the show seemed to be heading at the conclusion of One World to where we are now is as clear as night and day. Josh enjoyed his experience being at the live finale, especially with the changes made for the latest finale. Josh got to speak with the final 4 in person and was really surprised in one of his chats compared to the other 3. Josh had loads of praise for Tony during his interview and even brought in a specialist to translate the llama talk. Josh can be seen at the finale right after Spencer is voted out during the war vet segment. The guys felt that the next season is in the works for being possibly the most erratic season ever as the next cast uses Tony’s game as a basis for their own games. Rob also thought the hopes for returnees have diminished due to this season as well. Tony’s game was compared to another god/TP idol winner, Yul Kwon. Josh found it hard to describe what makes a season great, but he did say he didn’t want “mactors” in the cast. Josh did like starting with 3 tribes and thought it should be used every once in a while but not too often. How tribe swaps impacted gameplay also was discussed as necessary for interesting stuff later on. Josh also said that Redemption Island was best used in a Blood vs Water season and is pleased with its return in the same capacity as before. Rob showcased Nicole’s psychic abilities from the Cagayan preview show with shocking results. The guys go into the fashion sense of Probst and then their personal rankings of seasons. RHAP’s friend Dalton Ross had his top 5 rankings of seasons read by Rob as well. The controversial topic of intentionally Matsing-ing rears its ugly head again as the idea is floated around. The theory of new types of bluffs also was spoken about as a future prospect for later seasons along with how players should deal with such lies by going to Probst and production. Rob wanted to know if players are more likely to go after the hashtags and episode titles. The guys speculated about if there was any funnier moment than the auction or the llama talk. They then thought Woo was a master of funny moments. Sarah and LJ were given the award for most likely to be forgotten from this season as Kass was the one more likely to be remembered as time goes on. Morgan vs RC in terms of return-ability was also discussed in the good looks category. Kass’ chances in a another season was also a discussion point, which was determined to be dependent on the adjustments to her social game and her second season’s tribe structure. Rob reveals that he was crushed by AJ Mass in their personal Survivor Fantasy draft, with AJ having all 5 of the final 5 on his team. Josh felt the breakdown of the individual immunity wins was a shock with the Brains dominating in them despite their poor start to the season. The meaning of swearing on loved ones was also spoken of as being totally different in today’s game than in seasons past. Everyone’s favorite Survivor family that rhymes with Antz is getting a new TV show and Rob spoke of a future podcast with them about that. Tony’s future prospects were also discussed as being a rough road. Rob veers into Breaking Bad territory in his talks of Survivor characters with comical results. Wrapping up the RHAP-up, Rob spoke about several news headlines that relate to Survivor this season with mixed feelings. Questions to be Answered: How did the cancellation of The Jeff Probst Show influence Survivor? Which Survivors are which Ninja Turtles? How likely are future players to be influenced by Tony’s erratic gameplay? Where does Tony rank among all-time winners? What makes a season’s cast great? Is the idea of a One World/ Blood vs Water fused season a good idea? Does the podcast have a resident psychic on staff? What was the best wardrobe for Probst at the finales? What are their favorite seasons of Survivor? Who owns the copyright for intentional Matsing-ing (and is it a good thing)? What new twists are Survivors likely to lie about in the future? What was the funniest moment of this season? Who is likely to be forgotten as seasons go on? Is Kass one of the first ones out if she is on a second season? Who won in the AJ Mass vs Rob fantasy draft? Is the value of swearing on stuff now completely gone? Which Survivor family is opening a restaurant for a TV show? Which of the male castaways are hot and which are cute? What should Tony do on a future season to survive long enough? Which TV show does Rob envision his alliance with Tony as? Should casting look for one or two more Woos in future casts? What did an old lady who is a fan of Woo do for him? How does a congressional election relate to Survivor? Survivor 2014: A Post Cagayan Finale Sitdown Interview with Spencer Bledsoe Listen to the Podcast: Spencer Bledsoe, the 4th place finisher of “Survivor: Cagayan,” is in studio with Rob to accept his trophy for RHAP Fan Favorite Player of the Season. Spencer is excited to not only have his own podcast bell atop the trophy, but to get the leftover prize package from Hayden’s win last season. Spencer says he’s just gone through the craziest 48 hours of his life, but coming on Rob Has a Podcast was at the top of his priority list and winning the POTS award made up for losing the game. Spencer Bledsoe’s Post-Finale Interview to Recap His Fourth Place finish in Survivor Cagayan and Fan Favorite Victory Rob asks Spencer if his speech to the jury is what sealed the deal for Tony’s win. Spencer says that during a commercial break in the finale, Tyler Perry told him that he indeed did change the jury’s mind. However, Spencer doesn’t think he changed things to flip the vote– maybe only one or two people, such as Jefra and Sarah, were on the fence. He says he could have actually lost Tony a vote because Kass told him she almost flipped her vote to Woo after his speech. Spencer says he felt genuinely bad for Woo at his game decision but he wanted a good story and the best player to win. Spencer talks about what a great character Tony was, and Rob and Spencer agree that he represents a different type of winner and it was compelling to follow him all season. Spencer says that while Tony had an impulsive nature, people underestimate how calculated he was. He showed that big moves can lead to winning, something Jeff Probst is sure to love. Rob and Spencer talk about what would have happened with a Woo vs Kass vote, and remark how Cochran really predicted a likely scenario but couldn’t foresee that Woo wouldn’t take Kass to the end. Spencer points out the irony that by winning that immunity, Woo lost himself the game. Kass was a second or less away from winning, and if she had won the necklace she would’ve taken Woo and he would have won the game. Spencer explains why he disagrees with Rob that Kass played a better game than Woo. He thinks Kass played an actively bad game, and he saw that throughout the season since he was playing with her from Day 1. Rob wants Spencer to break down what went so wrong with the Brains tribe and why the guys couldn’t work together. Spencer points out some of his flaws as a player early in the game and wishes he had done something to prevent Garrett’s decision to talk about the vote in front of the entire tribe. Rob thought Woo’s move was the worst move of all time and convinces Spencer, who initially suggests Colby’s decision to take Tina or Erik giving up immunity. Spencer also talks about what it was like to be on the bottom when there were 4 people left on Luzon, the amazing luck of his tribe swap, and the decision to target Alexis after the swap. Spencer also shares regrets about burning a bridge with Kass after her flip and calls Trish the most underrated player of the season. Trish put out Tony’s fires, had an awesome social game, and was able to convince Kass to flip and Jefra not to flip. Spencer also breaks down the mad treasure hunt where Woo stole his idol clue and gives Kass credit for knowing he had the idol. He also gives Tony credit for doing a great job of keeping people with him, even when he kept them in the dark. Spencer thinks he should have tried to blow things up more around camp and also discusses his regret about not leveraging the idol with Jefra to get her to flip to his side. Rob and Spencer then talk about other strategies he could have tried with the idol during the “Jeremy” vote out. They also talk about the pattern of the votes being a blindside followed by a predictable vote, Spencer putting poison in Tony’s ear about a women’s alliance, and Spencer’s relationship with Tasha during the game. Spencer goes into his strategy talk with Woo and Kass, but at the time they didn’t know about Tony’s special idol. Rob brings up the importance of having the believable fake story, since Woo was so obvious when talking with Tony. Spencer reveals that for the Trish vote, Tony actually suggested it and had Woo make a fake final 3 deal with Spencer and Kass. He thinks it came down to Tony thinking Trish was too likeable, and he was also thinking about Kass beating Spencer in a puzzle, which panned out for him. Spencer shares details about production’s love-hate relationship with Tony. Some things viewers didn’t get to see include Tony doing a rain dance and having conversations with his idol in the middle of the night. Spencer still hasn’t read his letter from Jeff Probst, but Rob shares some of the #spencersletter predictions from Twitter. Then they RHAP up with some listener questions, covering topics including: What is Spencer’s history of listening to RHAP? How many times did he try out for “Survivor”? Is Tony the Russell that doesn’t suck? How did Spencer drop those references in his bio like “tighty whities” and “build a shelter out of rocks” ? Why didn’t he align with more women? Why did Tasha vote for Woo? Which chess pieces are the Cagayan cast members? Why does Spencer have so many unread text messages when he shares “Tony’s Fireside Chats”? When did his friendship with Tony develop? How much of a bump did Spencer’s Twitter (@SpencerBGM) get after the finale? What is Spencer’s dating status? What will Spencer’s role be on the sitcom “The Vlachos”? Why did Spencer give his David Murphy/Eric Cardona speech to the jury? Who would have voted for Kass at the end? Rob hosts his final exit interviews of the season with the winner of Survivor Cagayan, Tony Vlachos, followed by Yung “Woo” Hwang, Kass McQuillen and finally, Spencer Bledsoe. Exit Interview with the Winner of Survivor Cagayan, Tony Vlachos: After such an exciting season, Rob has the opportunity to speak with the man at the center of all the drama, Tony Vlachos. In this interview, Rob talks to Tony about the following topics: How much did Tony suspect that he could get Woo to stick with him at Final 3 and did that play a part in not voting to force a tie with Spencer? How close was Tony to thinking about voting with Spencer? At what point did Tony think that he had sold Woo on getting rid of Kass? If Tony had won the final immunity, who would he have taken to Final 2? In hindsight, was it still the right move to vote against Trish at Final 5? Wouldn’t it have been safer to go to the Final 3 with Trish and Woo? What was the point in the game when Tony felt the most nervous? Did the Tyler Perry idol change the way Tony was playing the game at all? What did Tony think his best move in the game was? Was Tony surprised that Sarah was so upset with him about his reaction to her comments about her accusing him of breaking his oath? What did it mean for Tony to have “the young lad” Spencer defend him at the Final Tribal Council? How much Survivor had Tony seen before going on the show this season? Tony has won the game and had a lot of medical complications from Survivor after the show… is he itching to go back? How Big was this win? Did Tony need it? Interview with the Survivor Cagayan Runner-up, Yung Woo Hwang: After a night in which Woo made one of the most questionable decisions in Survivor history, Rob talks to Woo about his game and asks the following questions: How hard has it been for Woo to have everybody say that he should have taken Kass to the end? Why did Woo, who had been so loyal to Tony throughout the game veer away from him toward the end of the game? At Final Tribal Council, did Woo feel like things were going well for him? Did Woo end up getting engaged to his girlfriend, Christina Hamilton? Was Woo’s stealing of Spencer’s immunity idol clue a violation of the 5 Laws of Tae Kwon Do? Why did Tasha give Woo her vote in the Final Tribal Council? Interview with the Survivor Cagayan Third Place Finisher, “Chaos” Kass McQuillen: Rob talks with Kass about her wild season and asks the following questions: How shocked was Kass to see Woo’s vote to take her out in the game? Was Kass playing to win the season the entire time or did she reach a point where she was playing to be the best person for everybody else to bring to the finals? What does Kass mean when she talks about arguing to the women that she was playing the game like a man? Did Woo lose Kass’ vote with his answer at Final Tribal Council? When Tony came to Kass at Final 5 saying that he wanted to be in the Final 3 with her, why go to Woo and break that confidence? Trish seemed to have no love lost for Kass. How did this relationship go so sour? At Final 6, Kass flirted with the idea of voting with Woo, Spencer and Tasha against Tony to flush an immunity idol. Why did Kass end up not doing that move? Kass made her big move to swap at Final 11. Does she feel like her placement in the Top 3 has proven that was the correct move to make? How much did seeing her husband help her in the Final 4 immunity challenge? Interview with the Winner of The RHAP Survivor Cagayan Fan Favorite Player of the Season, Spencer Bledsoe: Lastly, Rob talks to Spencer about his game this season and asks him about the following topics: Did having the family visit at Final 4 mess with Spencer’s momentum in the game? Why did Spencer have so much trouble with this puzzle? Did Spencer really plan to follow through on his offer that he was going to tell the jury not to vote for him? Did Spencer actually feel like it would have been a good move for Tony to vote with him at the Final 4? At what point did Spencer start to suspect that it would be a Final 2? Can Spencer divulge any of the details of the letter from Jeff Probst? What does Spencer specifically wish he would’ve done differently with Jefra at Final 8? When Tony opened up his bag of tricks when Jeremiah got voted out, did that cause Spencer to change what he was doing? How much did Spencer have to change up the game he was planning to play after having such a disastrous start? Watch the Show on YouTube – RSVP for the LIVE Event Listen to the Podcast: Survivor Cagayan has come to a close, and Rob Cesternino and Stephen Fishbach are back one more time to talk about who came out on top and everything that went down in tonight’s season finale live on Survivor Know-It-Alls! Tony Vlachos is the Winner of Survivor Cagayan, Tony Beats Woo 8-1 in the Final Tribal Council Tony Vlachos is your new Survivor champion, defeating Yung “Woo” Huang by a final jury vote of 8-1. Rob and Stephen are both satisfied with this outcome, with Rob noting that Tony might not be a perfect player, but was certainly a successful one. He’s skeptical that Tony had to blindside as many people, particularly Trish, along the way as he actually did, but acknowledges that he ultimately was able to pull off the win regardless. Stephen doesn’t necessarily agree with Rob though, believing that Trish might have been able to beat him in the season’s final challenges and even possibly make a case against him in front of the jury. Before the finale, Cochran told Stephen that Tony is the show’s best ever combination player and character, and Stephen agrees with this 100%. Rob agrees as well, recalling how much fun he’s had this season imitating Tony and repeating his catchphrases (now immortalized in this exclusive quiz!). He praises Tony for consistently keeping the show entertaining, always choosing the move that made for the best TV even if it wasn’t the best move for his game. Rob also notes that Survivor is continuing a really strong run of winners that dates back to Boston Rob winning Redemption Island. Stephen also wants to acknowledge Tony’s ability to backstab and make numerous deals but still keep allies like Woo in his back pocket until the very end, which he feels has been an underreported story this season. The Know-It-Alls then moved on to talk about the season’s reunion, which underwent a slight format shakeup though. Rob found it to be slightly anticlimactic, as there was very little bitterness to be discussed save for Sarah and Tony. Stephen’s feelings about the finale remained largely unchanged, wanting more time to be spent on the season’s actual cast (some of whom didn’t even speak, like Brice) instead of police officers in the audience. Beloved castaway Spencer went out in fourth place tonight, to the disappointment of many fans. Stephen, however, who’s championed Spencer all season, admits that he would have been slightly disappointed had Spencer won simply because this was the season of Tony all along. Stephen and Rob also discuss whether or not Tony made the right move to vote with Woo and Kass to get rid of Spencer rather than try to force a tie, ultimately feeling that he did make the right move because Spencer seemed more likely to be an immunity threat. Next season, Survivor will be returning to the Blood vs Water concept two seasons after it was introduced. Rob wonders if this is a little bit too soon to bring the format back, but Stephen thinks it adds a whole new dynamic to the game and welcomes its return. Don’t hold him to this, but he’s not sure he would even mind if every season going forward was Blood vs. Water. Rob wouldn’t have minded if the show had waited another year to bring it back, but does feel like this is a little too soon to do it again. To RHAP up an incredible season of Survivor, Rob and Stephen take your questions one more time. Would Kass have won the season were she a man, as she claimed? Has Woo earned himself a place in the power rankings of all-time dumbest Survivors? Why did Tasha cast the lone vote for Woo? And would the final vote have been closer had Spencer not pulled the half-Murphy? Plus, don’t miss the huge reveal (you need this!) of the Survivor Cagayan Fan Favorite Player of the Season Award! It’s only on the season finale of Survivor Know-It-Alls! Special Thanks to Brendan Noel for tonight’s episode summary! Take the “What Tony Catch Phrase are You” Quiz! Rob and Cochran are saying “Let’s Get Weird” Listen to the Podcast: Rob Cesternino hosts the longest podcast in the history of his career as he welcomes back John Cochran. After discussing Survivor Cagayan Episode 12 with Cochran, Rob is joined Nicole Cesternino to answer your voicemail questions and discuss some of the memorable quotes from the last Survivor podcast. Winner of Survivor Caramoan, John Cochran, Breaks Down the Survivor Cagayan Final Four Rob welcomes Cochran back for an episode recap for the first time since the premiere of Survivor One World . This time Cochran is able to visit with Rob in his studio for a marathon talk about the current season of Survivor, which he is really loving because he is unspoiled and, like Rob, he’s been surprised week-to-week at who has gone home. Cochran reveals that he worships Tony and gives kudos to “Survivor” casting because he thinks that Tony is the best new character that “Survivor” has found since Coach. Cochran also thinks this was the best Final 6 in “Survivor” history, while Rob thinks “Heroes vs. Villains” gives it a run for its money. Rob asks Cochran to explain why Tony voted off Trish and Cochran thinks it’s because that would be a vote for him on the jury. Rob plays a secret scene from the latest episode in which Tony reveals that he feels like Trish’s loyalty to him would make her vote for him in the finals. Rob and Cochran run through a number of scenarios for the final Survivor tribal council, which is now CONFIRMED to be a final 2 by Jeff Probst . After going through a number of scenarios Rob and Cochran use some deductive reasoning to come up with the following conclusions: There is almost no chance that Kass will NOT be in the final 2. Anybody in the game would be crazy not to take her. There is almost no chance that we will get to see a Tony and Spencer Final 2 (See Reason 1) Though it seemed crazy at one time, there is a real possibility that Woo can win the game. In addition to discussing what could happen on Finale Night, Rob and Cochran discuss some of the changes that are coming to the Survivor Finale telecast which Rob thinks will make it more like the “Celebrity Apprentice” finale. Jeff Probst said in his interview with Dalton Ross that he will be live from the finale in between act breaks of the episode. Rob also hopes they pump in the crowd noise from the finale into the telecast since Rob loves that on the Celebrity Apprentice. Rob and Cochran discuss Kass’ game at length and Rob asks John to compare his flip in “Survivor South Pacific” to Kass’ flip in “Survivor Cagayan.” Rob wants to know if Kass realized she wouldn’t win and intentionally has done everything in her power to get to the final 2 OR if this is actually Kass trying to win the game. Rob and Cochran also discuss Rob’s new X-tra large “Let’s Get Weird Chase Rice” t-shirt, how Woo compares to Fabio from “Survivor: Nicaragua,” Cochran’s dating life and personal training regimen, personal goals and the secret to being happy. They also break down the best episode titles of this season, such as “Hot Girl with a Grudge” and compare them to the episode titles from “Survivor: Borneo.” Cochran also discloses his reasons for not tweeting very much about “Survivor” as a former castaway. To RHAP up the show, Rob asks Cochran a number of questions from the Rob Has a Podcast Facebook page, which lead to a lot of great discussions. The questions include: What does Cochran think of Spencer calling himself, “The Cochran That Doesn’t Suck”? And is, in fact, Cochran the “Spencer That Doesn’t Suck”? Does Cochran think Tony has played like Russell Hantz? How does Cochran think the Tyler Perry idol has affected the game? Are there any similarities between Kass and Dawn? What’s the most Hollywood thing that Cochran has ever done? Is Cochran willing to participate in Sophie Clarke’s idea of “Survivor: Family Feud”? What is Cochran’s “baggage”? What would be the premise and who would be the cast of a sitcom called “The Vlachos”? Nicole Cesternino Answers Your Survivor Cagayan Voicemails The first lady of podcasting rejoins Rob on #RHAP to discuss Survivors on social media, Jeff Probst’s inappropriate comments, and answer a number of your phone calls which covered: Is there still time for a family visit this season? Who is Dominic supporting for #RHAP fan favorite? How has “Survivor” been able to maintain its ratings while “American Idol” has slipped? Is this the best season of “Survivor” ever? Can Spencer get to the Final 2 without winning immunity? What Does the Llama Say? We really hope you enjoy the longest podcast in the history of RHAP. Survivor 2014: Rob Cesternino Interviews the Latest Player Who Got Voted off Survivor Cagayan Listen to the Podcast: In the latest Rob Has a Podcast exit interview, Rob welcomes the latest player who got voted out on Survivor Cagayan: Trish Hegarty. Trish had been in a solid alliance with Tony Vlachos throughout the whole game but was surprisingly blindsided by Tony along with Woo, Spencer and Kass. Then Rob Cesternino welcomes back Jordan Kalish for another edition of This Week in Survivor History. Exit Interview with Trish Hegarty, Voted Off in Survivor Cagayan Episode 12 In this interview Rob asks Trish about the following subjects: What was Trish’s reaction to finding out that Tony had voted for her at the last tribal council? Did Trish have any idea that Woo was planning on flipping to go with Kass and Spencer? Since Tony had the idol, did she think she was vulnerable? Did Trish ever discuss with Tony if he would use his idol on her to save her? After Tony blindsided Trish two times before (after voting out LJ and then voting out Jefra) is any part of her upset with herself for trusting him a third time? Did Trish see at tribal council that Kass cheered and then gave the middle finger to Trish after she had been voted out? Does Trish regret any of the things that she said to Kass during this week’s episode? Who would Trish rather spend 39 days on an island with, Kass or Lindsey? What does Trish have to say about Lindsey’s reasons for leaving the game? What does Trish think about the criticism she took from LJ and Jeremiah about being happy to be voted out from the game in her Ponderosa videos? How was Trish able to get Jefra back on board after she wanted to vote out Tony at Final 8? How did Trish end up on Survivor? This Week in Survivor History: May 11-18th Rob Cesternino welcomes back Jordan Kalish to the podcast to break down a number of the historic moments from the spring finales of Survivor. — Be sure to join Rob later when our special guest is the winner of Survivor Caramoan, John Cochran, on our final recap podcast of the season. Watch the Show on YouTube – RSVP for the LIVE Event Listen to the Podcast: Not even Rob Cesternino and Stephen Fishbach are certain as to what just went down, but they’re digging deep to figure it all out live on the penultimate Cagayan Wednesday of Survivor Know-It-Alls right after episode 12! Kass, Tony and Trish Feud before Trish Gets Voted out on Episode 12 of Survivor Cagayan Survivor fans turn to the Know-It-Alls for hard hitting, expert analysis, but Rob admits right up front that tonight he has no idea what events caused Trish to be voted out of the game. Not only did Tony opt not to save Trish with his additional immunity idol, but he also actually voted against her and sealed her fate. Rob wants Stephen and him to put themselves in Tony’s brain (a potentially scary thought) and consider why he would want to vote Trish out at the final four. The only thing Stephen can think of is that Tony flipped to vote in the majority with Kass and Spencer. Rob counters, though, that Tony would have had the numbers if he played the idol on Trish, which would have sent Kass home. Rob wonders if there is something we’re missing that possibly didn’t make the edit, that could make this make sense – based on what we’ve seen from Tony, crazy moves aren’t made solely to be crazy because they always have purpose. Stephen notes that at the start of the episode, Woo wanted to go to the end with Tony – not based on any strategic reason, but only because he seemingly wanted to do “the right thing” by voting with a long time ally. With Woo growing wary of Tony, there were ways that Woo could cause a deadlocked vote at the final four, and Stephen feels this might have been a way for Tony to try and patch up his alliance with Woo. Rob very much wants to hear the justification for this move from the commenters with regards to what Tony would be thinking by getting rid of Trish. One commenter suggests that getting rid of Trish might help him maintain the bluff that the Tyler Perry idol can be used in next week’s episode. Rob and Stephen are both still unclear as to when and how the special idol can be used, returning Stephen to his primary issue with it in that the majority of the players don’t know anything about it. Other theories from commenters suggest that Tony and Woo may have solidified their alliance in a conversation that was left on the editing room floor (Stephen doesn’t buy this considering we saw them have a very similar conversation to this right before tribal council), and that Tony wanted to put Trish on the jury because he felt she would be a guaranteed vote for him in the end. Elsewhere, tonight’s episode marked the much-anticipated (or something) return of #CHAOSKASS. Rob recalls that last week, Kass wanted to go to the end with Tony because he was New Jersey’s answer to Russell Hantz – so this week, he’s very confused as to why Kass seemed to blow up that alliance. Stephen compares Kass to the kid in school who always had to remind everyone how smart they were, and feels that part of Kass’ strategy to want to go to the final tribal council with Tony is revealing the weaknesses of his game, and to show the current and future jurors that she knows she would only want to bring Tony to the end as a goat. Rob doesn’t really understand this line of thinking though, considering her final three deal with Tony and Woo seemed much more secure than the plan Stephen suggested, which puts her much more at risk of setting Tony off and putting her on his radar. Rob and Stephen move on to an update of the probability that Spencer will win the game. Stephen is holding at 100%, although Rob feels his battle to get to the end will still be an uphill one in next week’s finale. Stephen’s actual breakdown: 70% Spencer, 29% Tony, 1% Woo, and Kass is creating enough chaos to get herself on a future all-star season. As always, Rob and Stephen RHAP up the show by answering your hard-hitting questions: why did Tony tell Trish about either of his immunity idols? Where are Rob and Stephen currently standing re: final two or final three? Is Kass actively trying to lose jury votes? And who is in line to win the coveted RHAP Fan Favorite Player of the Season trophy? The answer to these questions and more, only on Survivor Know-It-Alls! Poker Pro Jason Somerville lends his Poker Knowledge to Survivor Cagayan Listen to the Podcast: As he head down the home stretch of Survivor Cagayan, we are bringing you some additional bonus coverage with Poker Pro, Jason Somerville. Jason is one of the rising stars in the poker world and teaches people how to play on his youtube channel . Jason has earned a bracelet in the World Series of Poker in 2011. Additionally, Jason is the first and only openly gay high stakes poker player. Interview with Jason Somerville: Poker Player, ‘Caster and Survivor Expert After being introduced to one another on twitter a few months ago, Rob welcomes Jason Somerville to the podcast. Jason has made a career for himself in the world of poker, starting out as a high school student with a few dollars in an online poker game and transforming into someone who was won millions of dollars. Jason’s love of strategy and online gaming led him to discover Survivor around the time of Survivor Pearl Islands. Jason has been fascinated by this season and talks with Rob about some of this thoughts. Jason shares the same Poker mentor as Boston Rob Mariano in Daniel Negreanu. In addition to being one of the top stars in poker, Daniel is a longtime Survivor fan. Daniel has met with Boston Rob in the past and also knows Jean-Robert Bellande. Rob is curious to know Jason’s thought about Garrett Adelstein, who was another poker player who was the second player kicked off the show this season. Jason thought it was interesting that Garrett spent over 2,000 hours preparing for Survivor . Rob doesn’t even know how you can spend 2,000 hours preparing for Survivor and wonders if Survivor can really be prepared for. Rob thinks that the best way to prepare for Survivor is to try and build friendships with strangers and sell them things. Rob asks Jason if he thinks that poker players are pre-dispositioned to being good Survivor players. Jason discusses a number of game theories including the idea of variance – which is looking at improbable events as random rather than something that was caused by the skill of the player. In the case of Garrett it’s difficult to tell if he was a bad player or just got REALLY unlucky. Turning specifically to Survivor Cagayan, Rob asks Jason to look at a few of the major moments in the game through the lens of a professional poker player including: Did Kass make the correct the game more to flip at the merge? Was Tony correct to vote out LJ at the Final 9? Should Tony have made the move to take out Jefra at the Final 7? How does the Tyler Perry idol impact the game? In addition, Jason takes a look at the chances for all of the players left in the game to be the winner of the season and looks for the scenarios that will most benefit them in the final two weeks of the show. Finally, Jason answers a number of questions that have been submitted to him from the listeners of Rob Has a Podcast. Rob welcomes Latasha ‘Tasha’ Fox to the show to speak about her experience on Survivor Cagayan. Then Rob Cesternino welcomes back Jordan Kalish for the latest edition of “This Week in Survivor History”. Rob’s Exit Interview with Tasha Fox, who got voted off Survivor Cagayan in Episode 11 In this interview Rob asks Tasha about the following topic: Does Tasha believe that her comments about Tony Vlachos being the “New Jersey” version of Russell Hantz was what ultimately got Kass to change her mind? Did Tasha realize that her lack of scrambling tipped off Tony before tribal council? Did Tasha overhear Tony saying anything negative about Kass that morning? How long did the counting challenge take to complete before Spencer won immunity? How closely were Spencer and Tasha working together during the merge. Specifically, had Spencer become more aligned with Jeremiah at any point? Did Tasha know that at the same time she was trying to make Tony paranoid about the women’s alliance that Spencer was also trying to push the idea of the women’s alliance? After the merge, when it was becoming clear that Kass was upset about Sarah’s role, does Tasha have any second thoughts about how she handled that situation? Going back to the premiere, how much was Tasha’s protest about not being about to talk about strategy – actually strategy? How did Tasha end up becoming a Survivor? Watch the Show on YouTube – RSVP for the LIVE Event Listen to the Podcast: LIVE at 9:15 pm ET / 6:15 pm PT Rob Cesternino and Stephen Fishbach recap episode 11 of Survivor 2014 Cagayan. Join us LIVE to ask you questions on the show. The Know-It-Alls Recap Who Got Voted Off Survivor On the heels of Tasha’s departure from the island, Stephen starts the show by congratulating Spencer Bledsoe on winning Survivor Cagayan, claiming the continuation of his perfect, underdog hero’s edit points to his inevitable victory two weeks from tonight. Rob doesn’t see it that way though, feeling it’s very likely Spencer will actually be voted out in the next episode and is unlikely to go on an immunity run to get himself to the end of the game. Stephen feels it’s more than likely that Tony and Kass’ antagonism in tonight’s episode could continue and lead to Tony getting rid of Kass next week, even if Spencer didn’t win immunity. As a result, she could becomes the last jury vote Spencer would need to secure a win, as Tony has blindsided and otherwise angered a lot of the jurors thus far. Overall, Stephen remains fully convinced by Spencer’s edit, as one of the only likeable people still in the game and someone who has time and time again overcome the odds to stay alive in the game. From there, Rob wants to know if Kass made the right move tonight by deciding to try to use Tony as a Russell Hantz-ian jury goat rather than trying to team up with the likeable Spencer and Tasha. Stephen, critical of Kass for delusional gameplay, says with some sarcasm that she 100% did make the right move, as she would never have been able to beat Spencer and Tasha and correctly realized she needed to go to the end with jerks. Rob agrees this was the correct realization, but probably stumbled on her way there, particularly with how confrontational she was with Tony. Stephen points out that Kass tends not to make smart decisions when she doesn’t have power, and once she figured out how to get it back, she was able to realize she was headed for a major strategic error. Rob feels that something is off with Kass in that she likes to play the victim, as we saw tonight with her claims that Tony was trash talking her even though no one backed her up and there was no footage of him actually calling her a bitch. Click to hear Rob’s Exit Interview with Tasha Continuing to chart the erratic but brilliant gameplay by Tony this season, Rob feels that Tony deserves credit for once again bringing allies whose eyes he pulled the wool over back into the fold. Stephen agrees, but says that Woo also deserves recognition for terrible gameplay tonight. Woo impressed tonight with his martial arts routine, his first significant airtime since stealing the clue to Spencer’s hidden immunity idol, but both Rob and Stephen think he botched the fake story of strategy talk that he reported back to Tony and Trish. Stephen wonders if Woo is to blame for being unprepared, or if Spencer was to blame for not preparing him and thus failing in his role as the strategist. Stephen also wonders, though, if Woo might have the Fabio-esque qualities that could get him to the end of the game. Rob is unconvinced, not finding Woo as likeable and easy to root for as Fabio ended up being by the end of Survivor Nicaragua, and says he would not be happy with such an ending. Rob is fairly sure Woo wouldn’t be able to put together a good jury argument anyway, unlike Fabio whose ability to speak from the heart worked much better than Chase and Sash’s attempts to be apologetic to the jurors they had wronged. To RHAP up the show as always, Rob and Stephen take your questions: did Tasha unintentionally sway the others into voting her out tonight? Could Trish’s association with Tony hurt her in the endgame in the way many feel happened to Parvati with Russell in Heroes vs. Villains? Will Spencer staying be good for Tony’s game in any way? And why does black-hearted Stephen hate underprivileged Filipino children? The answer to these questions and more on Survivor Know It Alls! Survivor 2014: Rob Cesternino talks to Tyson Apostol about Episode 10 of Survivor Cagayan Listen to the Podcast: Rob Cesternino welcomes back RHAP Legend Tyson Apostol to the podcast after Tyson’s triumphant return to “Survivor,” winning Season 27: Blood vs Water. Tyson’s back for his first episode recap on RHAP since 2012 and he’s ready to discuss Episode 10 of Survivor Cagayan with Rob Cesternino. In this HUGE 3 hour plus edition, Rob talks with Tyson about the latest episode, asks Tyson your questions from Facebook, fleshes out the plot from some of your submissions to #TonyMovies on Twitter, answers your voicemail questions, counts down the Top 5 most inappropriate things said on this week’s Survivor, and recaps what the Survivor players are saying on social media. Tyson Apostol Interview: Rob welcomes Tyson back to the podcast after Tyson’s recent trip to New York to visit Rob’s Know-It-Alls cohost, Stephen Fishbach. Rob starts by asking Tyson whether or not he liked the decision that Tony made to vote against his core alliance and to vote with Spencer and Tasha. Tyson did not think that Tony made the right move this week. Rob asks Tyson to compare his game last season where Tyson stuck with his Final 3 group all the way to the end against Tony’s game where he has flipped so many times. Tyson says that it’s very important not to fall prey to paranoia during the game. Rob and Tyson can’t imagine Boston Rob making a move like that. Tyson thinks Tony should make it known that he has the “Tyler Perry idol” (the idol with special powers) and use that to select the two people he wants to come with him to the end. Another thing that Tyson didn’t like was how Tony turned against people who were solidly with him (such as LJ, Jefra) in favor of working with players on the outs. Tyson said it is easier to justify getting someone out if you know for sure they were targeting you– it doesn’t sting as bad when you can say “I just got you out first” rather than blindsiding someone who was loyal. Tyson thinks that Spencer is the biggest winner after last night’s shakeup and thinks that he has a great chance to win if he gets to the end. Tyson feels like even though Tony and Woo defected from Kass and Trish it’s in all of their best interests to get back together because of the threat of Spencer or Tasha beating them in a jury vote. As much as they may not like each other, it’s important for the group of four to come back together at the Final 6. He thinks Tony’s best chance to win is against Trish and Kass, and he thinks Spencer and Tasha’s move should be to try to recruit Woo. Tyson likes Spencer and Tony as players. He has enjoyed watching Spencer have to maneuver his way in the game being on the bottom, and he can tell that Tony is having fun as a player. He finds Kass condescending but feels she may thinks she has enough of a silver tongue to convince people to vote for her at the end. Tyson also reveals that he modeled a lot of his game play in Survivor: Blood vs. Water after two-time Survivor winner Sandra Diaz-Twine. Rob and Tyson discuss the auction and all of the bargains that Trish, Kass, Woo and Jefra enjoyed at the auction. Tyson is the go-to guest for Survivor auctions since he appeared on the RHAP after the Survivor: One World auction as well. Tyson agreed with Tony’s strategy to save all of his money to bid on the advantage in the challenge. Rob found this hard to believe since Tyson sat out of challenges in his season so he could eat – but Tyson explains why he did what he did in Survivor Blood vs. Water. They also talk about Trish’s phrase “Cheapo-Deapo,” Woo’s sensual enjoyment of the ribs, and whether Spencer should have followed Tyson’s rock-draw strategy. Rob also talks to Tyson about getting second place in a “Top Mormons” of Reality TV list, falling just behind David Archuleta. Rob feels that Dawn Meehan was snubbed from this list. Tyson then takes many questions from viewers. He discusses why Tony should wear his idol nonstop around camp, the benefits of coconut consumption, why you should always be aware of your surroundings, a hypothetical endgame scenario submitted by listener Tonya V, whether or not he is an asshole, and if he’d participate in a Utah Family Feud team. Rob also asks Tyson to help him flesh out the plot of some of the #TonyMovies submitted by listeners last week. They describe: We Bought a Woo, Jeremy Maguire, Silver Linings Spyshack, and Kindergarten Construction Worker. They also talk about whether the current jury of Sarah, Morgan, LJ, Jeremiah and Jefra is the best looking Survivor jury in history. Rob thinks it definitely is in the running, but Tyson points out that a lot of people on Survivor are good-looking. Tyson also talks about how he prefers to play with people who won, because they don’t know what to look out for if they are being targeted. He says when everyone is placating you, and telling you they are with you, without raising other ideas or doubts, that means they are targeting you. Rob relates to this as he says it is what happened to him in Survivor: All-Stars. Rob and Tyson RHAP up by listening to a wrong number voicemail from Mr. Ronald, listing the top 5 out-of-context inappropriate comments from the episode, reading a few Survivor tweets, giving their predictions for the finale (share yours on Twitter using #finalepredictions) and discuss a trip to the zoo with Aras, Nicole, and Dominic.
