Bartlett Reservoir is deep enough within the YA reservation to be lost in harsh terrain, near enough to Phoenix to arouse fear of massed herds of casualties, and whispered about enough to create its own graboid-like Loch Ness monster myth! The Mavericks finally approach the Yavapai-Apache Tribal Council. The Council are riding the high of peace between the factions of the enclave following the successful defense of the Waterhole and are looking to build upon it! Their tribal casino was a failed attempt at an early enclave and remains a dark mark upon their past. Inside lies a treasure trove of their cultural heritage, links to their past that they would rather have in their possession for preservation. Also, there is an extensive collection of fine alcohol stored within the depths of the casino, a worthy contribution to the celebrations to show the council’s renewed investment in the enclave. Both caches are equally valuable to the council, for different reasons obviously, and they are willing to pay a fine price to retrieve them all. . .…
 
( Due to technical errors, Session 8 was unfortunately lost). The sins of Stagecoach’s idealism came back to bite the group. Agent Lynch, of the DHQS, was not thrilled with the Maverick’s selling government servers to the Moths. But he’s a generous man, if they do a job for him, he’ll forget all about this little indiscretion. And so, the Mavericks are sent across the unknown wilds of the YA reservation with a Moth wetwork specialist whose trial, and summary execution, awaits him back in the Recession. Stagecoach was forced to face the darker realities of resistance while the rest of the crew learned the finer points of detainee handling! HORDE! A stampede of casualties thousands strong is sweeping towards the Waterhole! While the Mavericks dealt with the DHQS, the enclave and all of its resident taker groups has been preparing for a tidal wave of Blight to crash upon their walls. Now with little time left before the arrival of the horde, the Maverick’s must slot themselves into the defensive works to save their home! This was a playtest of early-build War Campaign rules, it offers a sneak peak of the upcoming supplement The Racket though specifics in design and execution may have changed dramatically between the two versions.…

Due to technical errors, Session 5 was unfortunately lost. The Takers took on a second job from The Brothers, utilizing their electric semi-truck to transport clean water to a newly contacted enclave in hopes of building trade and diplomatic relations. The Mavericks instead found a massive convoy; the new enclave was entirely mobile and had survived via migration tactics. Shenanigans ensued. * The Maverick’s are trying their hand at frontier justice! Their nearest rival enclave, Earthship Serenity, has suffered a series of grizzly murders, and the leadership of Serenity have charged the Waterhole with proving their innocence by solving the murders and bringing the guilty to justice. Sheriff Graham Lightfoot is looking for competent takers to go down and sort the mess out quickly and professionally. Getting the job done quickly, no problem for the Mavericks. With their parents’ political infighting draining too much of their attention, they have begun outsourcing for solutions to the larger concerns of the enclave. Namely their future cash crops. Nestled up to the mountains north of Phoenix Arizona lies an enclave known as The Waterhole. Made up of a former Hollywood Wild West set-turned actual ghost town-turned interactive amusement park and a gaudy, low-effort water park, The Waterhole has grown into a powerhouse of supply for central Arizona. But its economic stability is undermined by political infighting, as sins of the now reflect all too harshly the sins of the past. It is here that a small Taker group known as The Mavericks have formed up with the hope of pulling the greatest score in history: Operation Stop Gap. A score so grand it will bring sustainability to all in the region, while setting The Mavericks up for life, of course. The Siege of Helskinki. It’s all come down to this. The Allies gamble paid dividends, allowing them not only to bypass the Axis forces, but storm into the capital city and seize the Finnish shipyards. Now they await the HMS Deadshot and elements of 7 th Atlantic Fleet to bring reinforcements, as the Japanese and Finns bear down on them. It’s no longer a mission to gain needed intelligence on the foe, it’s a fight for time. Every life spent for just a few more minutes is a price willingly paid, as both sides desperately race their own clocks ticking towards the end… More pics below the fold…
 
Despite the Allies dogged persistence and punishing strikes, the Axis forces are nearing their goal; the Baltic Sea. The continuous presence of the Allied special forces has forced drastic measures on the part of their enemies, however; new powered armor troops have been added to the SNLF guard unit, and the Fins have had the latest jump mech technology fresh from Berlin delivered to the escort forces. The Allied commanders on the ground hatch a reckless plan to leverage victory from their enemies; forego halting or killing them in the field and race through the province of Kuopio, past the Axis, to arrive at the Helsinki shipyards first! If their luck holds, Allied naval assets will be able to penetrate deep enough into the Baltic to assist them in stopping the Japanese from crossing into Germany. It’s desperate, suicidal, and plain ungentlemanly, and it just might work… Pics below the fold…
 
The Battle of Kajaani ended in a demoralizing stalemate; neither side able to claim their prize, and the Axis left with a smoking ruin where a key strategic element once hid. Despite Axis High Command growing increasingly impatient, the Finnish escorts have withdrawn back to more immediate areas of concern, leaving the Japanese to bivouac in the town of Uhtua. The sides seem content with resting the wounded and reevaluating their respective missions when a Soviet convoy approaches Uhtua. Far from their citadel-like forward operating bases and using significantly more disciplined comm etiquette has made the wayward Soviets a prime target of opportunity for both the Japanese and Allies… More pics below the fold…
 
With the recovery of Dr. Ishinomoro, the Axis forces have redoubled their efforts to move through Finland. Finally gaining access to more contemporary roadways they have made good progress, reaching the town of Kajaani before calling a much-needed halt at several hidden Rift tech labs. Dr. Ishinomoro decided to conduct a technology demonstration to his German and Finnish counterparts, and was left in the town with a small component of Finnish special forces as a guard. After concluding his demonstration Ishinomoro’s convoy departed, but were immediately halted by a landmine strike that left the scientist and several guards stranded. The initial stage of the ambush successful, Allied forces sweep into the area to reclaim their lost prize before reinforcements arrive… More photos below the fold…
 
Following their defeat at the Allied encampment, the Japanese have been driven back all the way to supercruiser Amagi. During their rapid retreat, a third-tier scientist, Dr. Shotoro Ishinomoro, was separated in the Finnish tundra and lost. Axis High Command has demanded the Finnish escort force return to assist the SNLF, and their combined forces are pressing south again to locate the scientist. However; the OSS has also learned of the scientist’s separation from his protectors and is pressing the British special forces and their Marine brethren to locate Ishinomoro first! Following the reveal of an Allied presence deep in Finnish territory, Axis high command has ordered a redoubling of efforts to move the Japanese envoy to Helsinki and the supposed safety of the Baltic Sea. Unfortunately, Soviet forces have begun to rouse themselves from their winter fortresses, leading to more immediate concerns for the Finnish government and its military assets. While the Finns engage in a daring operation to try and delay or outright eliminate Soviet forces in the area, the Japanese SNLF force are tasked to hunt down and eliminate the Americans and their British compatriots. Lt. Murimoto plans a daring night assault to capitalize on his troop’s capabilities. Unbeknownst to them, the US has made large advancements in Infrared technology to aid in their nightfighting prowess. . . More photos below the fold…
 
It is the spring of 1947. World War 2 has been prolonged due to interdimensional Rifts being torn open by the use of American nuclear weapons, providing all sides with new, horrific weapons. The harshest winter ever recorded has ground the war to a halt in Europe, however. German High Command desires to see returns on their investment into the technological growth of Imperial Japan. The two allies hatch a bold plan, to sneak the battlecruiser Amagi through the treacherous Arctic ocean, past the grounded Soviet Union navy, and land a unit of Japanese scientists and Special Naval Landing Force marines with a display of their Rift technology onto the shores of Finland. Renewed tensions between the Soviets and Finns have led to a growth in their need for armaments and support from Germany, so with the Soviets trapped in their winter fortresses the Finns have agreed to supply guides and a protector force to see the Japanese safely to Helsinki in exchange for more and newer Rift tech creations. From there the Kriegsmarine will transport the Japanese across the Baltic Sea to Germany. However, Allied High Command has been alerted to this operation and intends to stop any further sharing of technology between the Axis powers. A small force made up of United States Marine Raiders and selected units from the British Special Operations Executive (or Office of Ungentlemanly Warfare) have been secreted across Sweden by Norwegian saboteurs to halt or capture the Japanese scientists. On a lone, deserted road in northern Finland, the lead elements of the Axis column encounter something quite unexpected; a small reconnaissance force of Allied soldiers and Marines! Two of the three thieves who assaulted Kryptik Solutions are behind bars, but some egos have been bruised, and the team is no closer to learning the purpose of the attempted theft. And oh yeah, they have their own personal lives and relationships to take care of – family, school…and whatever Fravashi is. And on top of all that, it appears that they’ve attracted the attention of some established superheroes! With professionals now keeping an eye on them, will our heroes walk the line, or will they go their own way?…
 
Halcyon City is a city on a hill, the cutting edge of culture, technology, and wealth. It’s a big place to get caught up in, even for a career superhero, let alone four super-teens trying to make names for themselves.
