Another bumper show this week after ups and downs, thrills and spills and any other cliches you fancy! Whitstable Town take top billing after their dramatic FA Vase win over Whitchurch Alport, and we hear from both player-boss Jamie Coyle and matchwinner Harvey Smith after the Oystermen booked a last-four spot in front of a record crowd. It was not to be for Erith & Belvedere though as they went out at Hartpury University - joint-manager Billy Hamlin reflects on that defeat, the midweek draw with Corinthian and the emotional tributes to his late mum. Corinthian manager Michael Golding discusses that draw, his ongoing battle with recruitment and the efforts of his young side as they stay in the play-off picture. And we hear from Phoenix Sports manager Darren Anslow after a vital win over Erith Town put his side to within three points of the safety zone. Plus there's all the usual chat and nonsense, including Pancake Day, corndogs and, well, a not very nice man... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

The Road to Wembley continues this weekend with three of our sides in quarter-final action - and we hear from two of them ahead of the big games. Erith & Belvedere head to face a Hartpury University side yet to concede a goal in this season's FA Vase, and joint-boss Billy Hamlin is relishing the challenge ahead, discusses the impact of the run on their league form and why he's getting some supporters to be grasses ahead of the game. For Sittingbourne it's a home tie with National League Aldershot, and Brickies vice-chairman Andrew Marjeram discusses the challenges hosting the game has presented the club, the excitement of the fixture and praises boss Ryan Maxwell. Away from the cups, Ramsgate moved nine points clear at the top of the Isthmian South East and matchwinner Jay Leader discusses his goal and the feelgood factor around the club. There's all the rest of the news from across the county and all the usual chat and nonsense too, including Matt's big day out, England's run chase and the canning of an Aussie legend (again)... The Southern Counties East League takes centre stage this week, with three interviews from our Step Five league - including two post-match on Wednesday night. It was a fine evening for VCD Athletic as they ran out 5-0 winners at Sutton Athletic, and with leaders Faversham dropping points, the title race is really hotting up - joint Vickers boss Danny Joy reflects on the win, bouncing back from their Vase heartache and the benefits of momentum. It was Sutton's first league loss in almost three months, and manager Pete Nolan, while disappointed with the loss, was able to reflect on a brilliant run for his side and looks ahead to continuing to progress in his first season at the club. Also relatively new to the dugout is Micky Phillips - but the Larkfield & New Hythe chief has already led his charges into a cup final. He looks back at their penalty win at Bearsted, ahead to the season run-in and discusses the club's ambitious new stadium plans. Dover's wait for a home win goes on, and it's now three straight defeats after losing to Whitehawk - manager Jake Leberl gives us his thoughts. There's all the rest of the news from across the county, plus we talk mini-breaks, stomach bugs, EastEnders and more besides. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

Strap in for almost an hour and a half of non-league football goodness with another packed show. It's eight wins in a row for Ramsgate as they continue to lead the way in another fascinating Isthmian League South East title battle - boss Ben Smith discusses their great form, the feelgood factor around the club and his hopes to go one better this time around. While the Rams have been flying so far in 2025, Beckenham have played just one game so far in the calendar year after a raft of postponements - boss Del Oldfield talks about his frustration at the lack of action, the battle to get into the play-offs and the visit of his predecessor on Tuesday night. Dartford made it ten wins in a row on Saturday by beating Hashtag and captain Josh Hill reflects on that win and hails the young guns that have helped to get the Darts to the top of the Isthmian Premier. We've got all the rest of the news from across the county, and all the usual chat and nonsense, including Valentine's Day, Unforgotten, Big Boys, a good old-fashioned foul-mouthed rant and loads more besides. What a week as three of our sides are national cup quarter-finalists - and we dissect it all on this week's show. Whitstable saw off Fleet Town to reach the last eight of the FA Vase, and then followed it up with an impressive midweek league win, and player-boss Jamie Coyle believes that 2025 is shaping up to be a great year as he discusses challenging on three fronts, how his side have found their feet and packing out the Belmont. Sittingbourne stunned National League Southend in the FA Trophy and boss Ryan Maxwell discusses what it meant to win that game, his own celebrations and their return to league action. We also hear from Maidstone's Charlie Seaman as his goal sunk Torquay to keep the Stones right in the mix at the very top of National League South. We've got all the rest of the action and news from across the county, as well as the usual chat and nonsense including newspapers, the javelin, massive onion rings and Matt's balls. Hosted on Acast. We've got four interviews in this week's packed show as we look ahead to the last 16 of two national cup competitions - and reflect on another busy week. FA Trophy giantkillers Sittingbourne travel to take on Southend of the National League and defender Liam Smith discusses that big day out, the high standards set by boss Ryan Maxwell and his fixing of the floodlights in the previous round. Erith & Belvedere are one of three sides flying the flag in the FA Vase and their joint-boss Billy Hamlin joins us to look forward to the visit of Daventry in their last-16 clash, their habit of winning on penalties and why the Vase is so special. Dartford made it eight wins in a row with a 4-0 thumping of fellow Isthmian League high-fliers Billericay, and boss Adrian Pennock discusses that win, why it's all clicked for his team and his hopes for continued success this season. And we also hear from Maidstone striker Sol Wanjau-Smith after his side's weekend loss to Worthing, where he discussses their tough luck in that game, the title race and his delight at his return to the Gallagher. Another busy week in the county with more managerial changes and lots of action on the pitch. The manager heading for the exit is Danny Kedwell, who has left Ashford after just over eight months in charge. His final game was a loss at Sevenoaks, and we spoke to him after that game about that loss and the impressive performance of his teenage son Preston. We also hear from Sevenoaks boss Marcel Nimani after his side made it four wins in a row with a good attacking display - he discusses their progress on and off the pitch and their hopes of a push for the play-offs. Welling United suffered a third defeat on the spin and boss Rod Stringer discusses that loss and the need to improve his squad to move up the table. We discuss the rest of the news from across the county as Dover lose top spot, Sittingbourne hit eight, Margate leave it late and loads more besides, plus the usual chat and nonsense, including chaos in the Gerrard household, "autocorrect" fails and some truly disturbing TV viewing. Lots of postponements, but plenty of talking points - and lots of exciting action from the games that were played. Maidstone United continued their great run of form as they brushed aside Enfield, with Shaq Coulthirst coming off the bench to grab a hat-trick - and the experienced frontman reflects on that treble, the Stones' continued impressive run and his hopes for the rest of the season. Hollands & Blair staged a superb late comeback to beat Whitstable on Tuesday night and boss Darren Blackburn is a happy man - he talks that win, increasing the experience in his squad and how he couldn't turn down the chance to help out a club that means so much to him. Four sides have applied to join the SCEFL for next season, and the chairman of one of them, Minster, tells us about their ambitions and explains the process behind trying to move up to Step 6. There's all the rest of the news, including a managerial departure, a call-off controversy, Ebbsfleet stopping the rot and more besides, plus the usual chat and nonsense, this week mainly including dog food. We are back for another year of football chat and questionable banter - and we start with three top interviews at the end of the busy festive period. Top billing goes to Sittingbourne, who caused another upset in the FA Trophy by beating Salisbury to set up a trip to Southend - defender and man of the match Jack Steventon discusses that win, the good feeling at the club and team-mates helping to get the floodlights back on. Faversham have returned to top spot in the SCEFL after battling to victory at Corinthian - Lilywhites assistant boss Alex O'Brien reflects on that win, looks ahead to a big game this weekend and discusses his side's title hopes. But it was frustration for the Hoops, whose manager Michael Golding admits his side need to tighten up at the back, and rues the way they let their lead slip so quickly. There's all the rest of the news from across the county, including two SCEFL managerial exits, and all the usual chat and nonsense, including Gavin & Stacey, the lurgy, snow and some absolute filth from a pensioner... Our final live show of 2024 - and we go out in style with three top-quality interviews ahead of the busy festive period. Welling United are four games without defeat, but assistant boss Kevin Watson reveals to friend of the show Nigel Jones the challenges he and boss Rod Stringer are facing as the Wings look to move away from trouble and consolidate in mid-table this season. Cray Wanderers became the first side to stop Dover scoring in a league game this season, and their boss Neil Smith was thrilled after a third successive 1-0 win, praising his new signings and revellng in their current form. Several derbies are on the horizon for Boxing Day, and probably few bigger than the all-Thanet clash at Hartsdown Park - and Margate boss Ben Greenhalgh looks ahead to the visit of Ramsgate and discusses his side's excellent run of form and hopes for the rest of the season. We've got all the rest of the news from across the county and all the usual chat and nonsense, which mainly includes a badly-behaved dog... I blame the owner, in truth... Hosted on Acast. Another storm tried its best to stop football over the weekend, but some games did survive - although not all of them finished... VCD joint-boss Danny Joy discusses their abandonment against Windsor & Eton, the news on stricken Harry Sargent and his surprise that they have been ordered to replay the tie away from home this weekend, as well as Tuesday night's league win. It was another day to remember for Sittingbourne as they reached the last 32 of the FA Trophy, being the last Step 4 side standing in the competition - two-goal hero Joe Boachie discusses that win, his spectacular overhead kick and the feelgood factor at the club. There's breaking news as Ebbsfleet part company with boss Harry Watling after just three months in charge - we discuss what that means for them and if we think it's the right decision. It ended all square in both big top of the table clashes at the weekend - and Cray Valley PM boss Steve McKimm reflects on the late drama that saw his side come away from Dover with a point, and he reflects on their brilliant Step Three debut so far. Herne Bay player-coach Liam Friend looks back at his "soft" red card in the weekend win over Beckenham and looks back at an inconsistent start to their Isthmian League South East campaign. Plus the FA Vase is back this weekend and Whitstable Town get us underway with a lunchtime visit from unbeaten Jersey Bulls - Oystermen boss Jamie Coyle discusses that tie, having to pull his boots back on and his side's campaign to date. We discuss all the rest of the news, including the end of Ramsgate's unbeaten record, Ebbsfleet's ongoing struggles and Maidstone getting the gang back together. A soggy weekend saw the weather the victor in several games, but many of our teams who did play enjoyed good results as we hurtle towards the festive period. One game that didn't make it was the Kent Senior Trophy tie between Tunbridge Wells and Faversham, which was abandoned just after the hour mark - we hear from both managers after a frustrating Saturday afternoon. Town boss Tommy Warrilow admits the game should not have started if it wasn't going to finish, before looking ahead to their top of the table clash with VCD Athletic this weekend. Wells are still a work in progress but their boss Steve Ives is happy with how things are going as they sit in a cluster of sides just a few good results away from a play-off berth. Dartford also beat the weather to see off Lewes and goalscoring defender George Whitefield looks back at that win and discusses the season so far. We've got all the rest of the news from across the county and all the usual chat and nonsense including Christmas decorations, Amazon deliveries and a beautiful, improvised festive tune... Five of our six teams in action went out in the FA Trophy - but it was another fine afternoon for Sittingbourne with another upset to leave them as one of three Step 4 teams in the competition. Boss Ryan Maxwell reflects on that victory, looks ahead to hosting Enfield in the next round and discusses his side's excellent league form. SCEFL side Rusthall are celebrating their 125th anniversary this year with the release of a book covering their history - book editor and former club chairman Ben Martin tells us some of the most fascinating tales from the club's history and how the book has been 25 years in the making. Lydd Town have a new manager, and that man is Nicky Southall, who returns to the game not long after leaving Lordswood - he reflects on where it all went wrong at Lordswood, why Lydd was the right move next and looks ahead to facing his old club in his first league game. We dissect the current situation at Ebbsfleet and look at the rest of the news and action from across the county, as well as the usual chat and nonsense, which includes idiots in pubs, running and Matt's quiz success.
