Awaken Nation is a ministry formed by Leeland, a modern worship band from Baytown, TX. They have been nominated for four Grammy Awards — one for each of their previously released albums — and are led by Leeland Mooring with brother Jack Mooring on keys, their younger sister Shelly on bass, along with close friend Mike Smith on drums and recent addition Casey Moore on lead guitar. They've toured and led worship all over the world for seven years and have a heart to see a true spiritual awakening in America and the ends of the earth. They've all grown up around revival and spirit-led environments. Leeland and Jack can remember as boys being down at every altar call and, as their Texan Momma puts it, "having more hands laid on them than a football!" This desire for impartation from every respected minister that came to their church gave them an appreciation for how God can use spiritual leaders to shape the lives of young people. According to Jack, "The reason our band exists is a result of the prayers of our parents and the prophetic words of our spiritual parents." Throughout their childhood they received prophetic words telling them that they would "go all over the world and minister the gospel." Well, those words came to pass and after seven years of full time music ministry and playing concerts on every continent except Antarctica, Leeland are entering into a new season. They will continue to write and record music but want to transition from just "concert touring" to pouring into their generation and leading them in a call for true REVIVAL. It's a word that has been misused, thrown around, and under-appreciated, but something that they know is necessary in a time where the church has fallen asleep and the world is as dark and hurting as it has ever been. That's why they have started Awaken Nation. It is a movement that exists to lead this generation back to the only solution, the only healer, the only savior, Jesus. Awaken Nation exists: To raise up a generation of worshipers, prayers & disciples of Jesus. To cry out to God for true revival in our hearts, our cities, & our nations. To equip students & youth pastors to go and make disciples. We will be releasing live worship records, hosting events, and creating discipleship material to make this a reality.
