History is, indeed, a story. With his unique voice and engaging delivery, historian and veteran storyteller Fred Kiger will help the compelling stories of the American Civil War come alive in each and every episode. Filled with momentous issues and repercussions that still resonate with us today, this series will feature events and people from that period and will strive to make you feel as if you were there.
 
Held in the last year of the national commemoration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial, leading historians offer fresh perspectives on the turbulent conclusion of the conflict. Speakers discuss prominent political and military leaders, Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, and other episodes that helped bring peace but also foreshadowed a troubled reunion for the nation.
 
This radio show is about my interactions with my hobby of Civil War reenacting. I'll tell you what Civil War reenacting is, how I became interested in the hobby and the lastest events I've attended. I will also bring in guests to talk about Civil War history and other reenactors to explain why they are in the hobby and their experiences. It is a Down at Heel production written by four Kildare based writers, Martina Reilly, Claire Joyce, Joe Bergin and Brendan Farrell who also acted as sound engineer.
