In the beginning, I parented by default. I did what I saw and what was done to me, for the most part. With personal development came a natural curiosity to how my parenting was affecting my children and I began to understand the true power I have in creating their belief systems about themselves and the world. If you are a traditional parent, this episode may change your life. If nothing else, listen to see what's possible.
I was a teen mom.
I hit my children and use pain, shame and blame to get them to "act" how I wanted.
I focused more on behavior than the relationship.
I still struggle today.
