I was having a discussion with a buddy a few weeks ago about the advantages of some of the newer, more modern tools and pieces of gear you can get related to Overlanding.

But the more we discussed, the more we also started to see a lot of downsides to the newer stuff. That made me think of the topic for this week's episode. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of both the newest, highest tech gear vs. some of the more old school, mechanical types of gear.

Is a compass better than GPS in certain instances? Is an electric water pump better than a simple spigot? These are the questions we'll chat through to help you think critically about your set up and when to go high tech vs. low tech.

If you enjoy the podcast and wouldn’t mind, I’d be extremely thankful if you left a 5 star review on whatever podcast platform you listen on! Thanks and have a great week!
